10 000 hits and paying trip to Mauritius

A big thank you to all, I have reached 10 000 hits on my blog :D

Who knew I would one day go to Mauritius AND get paid to go?
Amazing place, it reminded me so much of South Africa!!! I saw a Woolworths, Pick 'n Pay, Food Lover's Market etc etc... made me feel like I was almost home again :D

The Hotel was very lovely, nice view and everything, however, quite expensive and also there's not really busses or taxi and if you do order a taxi, it would take half of your allowance money, so wasn't really worth it. We were also an hour away from the nearest beach so that wasn't amazing, however I did see some nice parts of Mauritius and will definitely go there again. It was raining most of the day as well which made it unpleasant to travel to the beach :(

I am too excited for tomorrow morning, as my fiancé comes to visit for a few days!!! It's been almost 8 weeks since we've seen each other...

Then on Tuesday I am off to Sao Paulo BRAZIL!!! Looking so forward!

Below, some pictures of the lovely Island which is Mauritius:

Fell in love with this city which is Vienna; Austria

What a magical city!! Unbelievable, it has this vintage feel to it, the buildings are magnificent and so beautiful.... I was walking in the street and suddenly thought it would be so nice to live here, I could see myself and my future husband being in this city together...

Initially when we arrived at the hotel yesterday (We are staying at the Marriot by the way) I thought to myself there is no way I am going out to explore the city as the weather was really miserable. However today it was a bit better and I was down in the lobby busy looking at the cute things at the gift shop and I thought let me just go outside and feel if the weather is bearable... so I started walking and soon forgot all about the cold. Next time I am definitely bringing some gloves and hats and a proper winter coat :D

There's snow everywhere!! I am glad I took the courage to go and would definitely want to come back to this city again :)

We're flying back in a few hours, then I have 2 days off (very happy about that) and then I fly to Mauritius :D always wanted to go there so quite excited to go.

Birmingham; UK

So, finally went to the UK :) Always wanted to go there since I could remember. However, I would rather have wanted to go to London or Gatwick, hopefully I will be luckier next time...

Birmingham is a nice city, a bit too Industrial for my liking however I still enjoyed visiting the city... it's all about the experience at the end of the day.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu - the room was very "vintage" and classic... different than the other hotels, yet not as spectacular and I think I expected a little more.
I did go to the gym the next day and it had a very nice view of the city that I can add.

Food of the hotel wasn't too great and also expensive as we didn't get discount. Normally we get 50% discount on the food in the hotels we stay at but alas not this one. Also the Wi-Fi in the room didn't even pick up my phone, it just didn't want to work/connect. I could at least use the internet on my laptop which was a highlighting point :)

Me and this girl from Australia went to have some late lunch at the mall, we walked because it's really no point in taking a taxi or bus as it would be too expensive. Then on the way back it was raining so hard of all a sudden and I was caught without an umbrella and was also not dressed warm enough. Had to walk in the rain and no one would offer to use/share their umbrella - everyone just walks on without a care in the world...so people not too friendly I would say

Overall, good experience, crew was ok..... flown with friendlier crew so not the best group. On the way back, 382 passengers in economy and we were 7 cabin crew in economy so you can just imagine how busy we were... I was so thankful when I got back to the flat in the morning hours

Tomorrow I am off to Bangkok, love Bangkok for the amazing shopping - hoping the allowance is good and that the hotel is central to the shopping places.
The weather will be another story - expected to be 39 degrees and 95% humidity - lovely.

Below, some pics from Birmingham :) - next time if I get Birmingham again, I will try swap it for sure :P

Tomorrow Birmingham and some pics of Engagement

So I thought I would post some pictures of my engagement which happened on 05 Nov 2012 - we recently received some more pictures and it was such a memorable day for me. A day which I dreamed about since I was a young girl.

It was one of the best days of my life as well as one of the happiest that's for sure.

I definitely have a keeper and he is such a romantic!
Can't wait to see him in about 16 days :)

So tomorrow morning I fly to Birmingham in the UK, I am looking forward to the trip, and I would like to go visit Cadbury's World. I have been extremely lazy since I got back from Singapore and I can't remember when last I slept this much!

Flying is very exhausting on your body and I listen to my body, if I need to sleep then sleep is what I'll do - no matter how boring that may sound to other people...
It's important to look after myself :)

Singapore!!

Hotel Carlton
Carlton Hotel Singapore

Slept like a Pre-Madonna

The prettiest Pig I've seen in a while - at Raffles Mall Singapore

I had a wonderful time in Singapore, I just feel that sometimes 24 hours really isn't enough to really explore a city because once we get to the hotel we are really exhausted and just want to go sleep and relax the next day.

Also, what is a bit annoying sometimes is that you try arrange with some of the other crew members to go out the next day to sight see but then they never pull through the next day and you end up spending your time alone in the hotel.

I am too scared to go explore the city on my own, I don't want to go wandering about places which I am not familiar with. Just can't take that risk. I went to Raffles Mall which is very close by the Hotel (Carlton) and was walking distance. I did some shopping with my allowance money and walked around the place a bit to sight-see; the rest of the time I spent going to the gym and relaxing in the hotel room. I have to say the crew were really nice and we all got along nicely.

The flight back to Dubai was painful, I was so tired, my back was sore, my feet was killing me and I was so happy to get back to my flat and get some sleep! So weird, walking into the flat, at 08:15 in the morning, closing the curtains and going to sleep!

I have 4 days off now, I will only fly again on Thursday then I'm off to Birmingham UK :D pity it couldn't be London, however it's still the UK and I always wanted to go there!!

Also I am happy that my baby might come visit me for a long weekend end of February if all goes well! I miss him so very much so looking forward to see him <3
